Nassau County's May Scholar Artist, Paula, Tartell
Watching and listening to Paula Tartell of Great Neck North High School play the piano is enough to understand her love for music.
Paula has been a leader in many music organizations in her school. She has been a member of Band, Jazz Choir, Select Singers, Tri-M Music Honor Society and has played leading roles in the school musicals Les Miserables (Eponine ) and Urinetown ( Little Sally). She is President of the Chorus and the Class of 2014.
She has performed in All-County Chorus and Band. This year she was named an NYSSMA All-State Pianist. In the summer of 2013, she participated in the Manhattan in the Mountains Festival, a three week intensive program of chamber and solo performances.
Paula has received school departmental awards in Spanish and English. She also is an AP Scholar and has a National Merit Commendation Award.
