PBA clock ticking on Levy's time in office
The Suffolk Police Benevolent Association, longtime foe of GOP County Executive Steve Levy, has a countdown clock on its website showing days, hours and minutes until New Year's, when Levy leaves office. Jeff Frayler, PBA president, said he's gotten many comments since the clock went up about a month ago. "Everyone is excited," Frayler said. "He's the worst thing that has ever happened to Suffolk and he is leaving the county in horrible shape."
Levy replied: "The PBA is not a bystander in the county executive race and is obviously counting up to the day that their candidate will cede control of the department to the union." The PBA backs Democratic Babylon Supervisor Steve Bellone for executive.
