Pam Cooke of West Sayville and her daughter Shelby, 8, were taking in the beautiful weather Monday around Sayville.

How long have you lived in the area?

Pam: We’ve been here 13 years now.

What brings you out here today?
Pam: It’s a beautiful fall day, we just wanted to be outside. And she wanted to come to town to spend her allowance.

Shelby, what did you spend your allowance on?
Toys, fudge and soap.

What do you enjoy about Sayville?
Pam: There are so many different festivals and parades; we have Margaritaville in the summertime. There are so many activities going on in the town.

Shelby: I like seeing my friends that live on my block.

Pam: What do you like about the town, Shelby?

Shelby: The parades.

How would you describe Sayville? What adjectives would you use?
Pam: Friendly. Welcoming.

Shelby: Happy.
