Perettine hits the winner for Farmingdale

Cassie Perettine scored her only goal of the contest with 1:41 left Tuesday to break a tie and lift Farmingdale to a 13-12 win over Garden City in a non-league girls lacrosse game.

Amanda Turturro scored four of her six goals during a 10-4 second half for Farmingdale (10-0), and Olivia Kirk made 14 saves. Alexandra Bruno led Garden City with seven goals.

riends Academy 20, Wheatley 12: Alexa Landow and Kelsey Denihan each had four goals and two assists for Friends (4-5, 2-4) in Conference 4C.

Half Hollow Hills 11, Middle Country 8: Junior attack Alexis Maffucci had a career-high nine points (six goals, three assists) and Jillian Rocco had 11 saves to lead Half Hollow Hills (6-6) in Division I.

St. Dominic 18, Portledge 12: Junior Jordan Coyne had career highs in goals (seven) and points (nine) to lead St. Dominic (9-3) in non-conference. Katie O'Brien also had nine points with five goals and four assists and senior Nicole Maher made a career-high 15 saves for St. Dominic, which beat Portledge for the first time in program history, coach Michelle O'Brien told Newsday.

BOYS LACROSSE

Clarke 17, West Hempstead 2: Anthony Gomes had five goals and five assists, Shane Wilson had four goals and four assists and Mike Martiello three goals and two assists, including the 100th of his career, for Clarke (4-3) in Conference IV.

Smithtown East 13, North Babylon 6: Brian Willetts had four goals and three assists and Jimmy Tenbrink a goal, two assists and 11 ground balls to lead Smithtown East (7-4) in Suffolk Division I.

BASEBALL

Calhoun 7, Carey 0: Frank Trimarco tossed a one-hitter, walked one and struck out 14 and Robbie Rosen had two hits and two RBIs for Calhoun (8-2) in Conference AA-III.

SOFTBALL

Carle Place 2, Wantagh 0: Ashley Cole tossed a two-hitter with no walks and 11 strikeouts for Carle Place (8-1) in Conference ABC-II. Taylor Ruscillo went 1-for-3 with an RBI in the win.
