Junior righthander Catherine Havens threw a perfect game with 14 strikeouts as Eastport-South Manor beat Sayville, 6-0, in a Suffolk League V/VI crossover game Wednesday. Eastport-South Manor improved to 5-2 in league play. Sayville is 2-3.

It was the second no-hitter in a week for Havens, who tossed a five-inning no-hitter with 11 strikeouts Thursday in a 12-0 win over Comsewogue.

"She was in total command. She put the ball wherever she wanted,'' ESM coach Steve Giacolone said of yesterday's performance. "She was incredible. I remember the umpire saying 'three balls, two strikes' one time and that was it.''

Melanie Boccio and Havens each had two hits. Havens scored the first run in the first inning.

Elgarten throws no-hitter. Sophomore righthander Paige Elgarten threw a no-hitter with 11 strikeouts and one walk as Friends Academy beat Great Neck North, 10-1, in a Conference ABC-IV/V crossover. The lone run against Elgarten, who walked a batter in the third inning, scored on an error. Friends improved to 4-0.

Ehlinger fans 20.Nicole Ehlinger struck out 20 and allowed five hits and one unearned run in 10 innings for Hauppauge in a 3-1 win over Shoreham-Wading River in a League V/VI crossover.

It was the second game this season in which Ehlinger struck out at least 20.

Heather Drago scored on a two-out error in the top of the 10th to put the Eagles ahead 2-1. Hauppauge improves to 7-0 and Shoreham-Wading River drops to 5-1.
