Piermont's Sidewalk Bistro open after Sandy flooding
Piermont's Sidewalk Bistro, closed down since its basement was flooded by Hurricane Sandy on Oct. 29, is open for business.
Sal Himmet, one of the restaurant's managers, said the basement was rebuilt, and the the Bistro reopened Dec. 29 with a limited menu.
"Business has been good considering January and February are usually slow here in Piermont," he said. "The more people find out that we are open, the more they come in. People are happy to see us. We have some regulars who have come in here three or four times since we reopened to support us. It's very nice," Himmet said.
The Sidewalk Bistro is owned by Daout Celestin, formerly of Xaviar's Restaurant.
For more information or a reservation call 845-680-6460 or go online at www.sidewalkbistro.com. Sidewalk Bistro is located at 482 Piermont Avenue in Piermont.
