Plandome Manor trustees voted on Tuesday to adopt the village’s 2013-14 budget.

The budget, which totals $815,675, is a decrease of 2.85 percent from the 2012-13 budget of $839,633. The budget reflects a last-minute reduction of $2,040 due to a renegotiation of the village’s garbage contract.

The average tax rate will rise by 15.49 percent, to 50.222 per $100 of assessed value, compared with the previous years’ rate of 43.487. Assessments in the village declined by 12 percent.

Trustees noted that the tax levy increase did not exceed the state-mandated cap.

“We were able to hold the line on our taxes for the third consecutive year,” Deputy Mayor Matthew Clinton said at the meeting.
