Police search for missing Maine woman on LI

Authorities are searching for a 22-year-old Maine woman who disappeared earlier this month from a hotel in Hauppauge.
Megan Waterman of Scarborough, Maine, was last seen June 6 at a Holiday Inn Express, said Scarborough Town police Det. Donald Blatchford, who added that Suffolk police are aiding in the investigation.
Suffolk Police Deputy Insp. Gerard McCarthy said Tuesday police believe that Waterman had been advertised as an escort on Craigslist and came to New York to work as an escort.
Waterman is described as 5-foot-5 and 145 pounds, with brown eyes and brown or bleached blond hair. Police said she has a birthmark on the inside of her right forearm, a mole on the right side of her face.
Suffolk police are asking anyone with information to contact the Fugitive/Missing Persons Section at 631-852-6040.
