Police seek man in suspected Walmart theft
Police are asking for the public's help in apprehending a man they say stole a television from a Walmart store.
According to Suffolk County police, on Jan. 15 at about 10 a.m. a man with a shopping cart entered the store on Old Country Road in Riverhead and not long after left with a 37-inch Vizio LCD TV, the security wrap still attached.
Police describe the man as 6 feet, 230-240 pounds. He was wearing dark pants and a blue sweatshirt with white lettering.
The man was captured on video, but police are asking anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential and police said callers are eligible for a reward of up to $5,000 for any information leading to an arrest.
