Detectives are still trying to find a connection between four bodies dumped on the side of Ocean Parkway in Gilgo Beach and a pair of missing persons cases.

Suffolk police say they are now using DNA and dental records to identify all four female bodies.

The mother of one of the women, Megan Waterman, 22, is waiting for a test to confirm whether her daughter is one the victims.

Waterman is from Scarborough, Maine, and her family says she came to Long Island almost every week with her boyfriend to work as an escort. She was last seen back in June at a Hauppauge Holiday Inn.

Police found the bodies within the past few days, but said they were likely dumped separately over the past year and a half.

Authorities said they discovered the first body Saturday afternoon as they were following up on another missing persons case - that of Shannan Gilbert, 22, of Jersey City. They say Gilbert was a prostitute who used Craigslist to meet clients on Long Island.

New Jersey law enforcement officials say they are trying to see if these murders are linked to unsolved prostitute murders in 2006.
