Poll: Are you voting in the fire district elections?
Long Island residents will cast their ballots in their local fire district elections on Tuesday. The fire districts are independent, public agencies with unsalaried commissioners who are responsible for the budgets and setting policies. The districts raise funds, mostly through property taxes, to operate the fire departments within their jurisdictions. Click here to read more about the upcoming elections.
