WHAT "She's only been married to him her whole life," Polly Draper says of her character in the one-woman import from England, Geraldine Aron's "My Brilliant Divorce," making its U.S. premiere at Bay Street Theatre. "I was lucky to get the part," says the actress, who may still be best known as raspy-voiced Ellyn on TV's "thirtysomething." Matt McGrath, the director, "is a friend of mine," Draper says. But she only felt lucky until it was time to learn her lines -- all the lines in the show. It was daunting, she admits. But as Draper got in character -- the woman is an American in England, on her own for the first time after her husband leaves her -- the words tumbled out. "It's very funny in some respects," she says, "if it didn't happen to you." Draper, once divorced, is married to Michael Wolff, father of their two teenage sons. Draper was producer-director for sons Nat and Alex in "The Naked Brothers Band," a Hamptons International Film Festival award winner, and subsequent TV special. "Mom doing stuff for them is annoying now," she says. The teenage boys currently tour as the Nat and Alex Wolff Band.

MUSIC: Great (Gatsby) jazz

WHAT It's jazz in a Great Gatsby setting. The Friends of Sands Point Preserve say it will be a "sizzling" evening at Castlegould Cafe as composer Steven Lutvak's orchestra accompanies cabaret and Broadway artists Tina Fabrique, Chuck Cooper, Wells Hanley and Kendra Shank in a concert of jazz standards and new tunes. Of course, it wouldn't be in the Gatsby/ Gold Coast tradition without cocktails -- also a buffet supper and dessert.

WHEN | WHERE 7 p.m. Saturday (concert at 7:45), Castlegould Cafe, Sands Point Preserve, 127 Middle Neck Rd.

TICKETS $70-$175; thesandspointpreserve.com, 516-571-7901
