Port Jeff awards contract for roadwork

Port Jefferson Village has awarded a $2.87-million roadwork contract to Pratt Brothers of Bay Shore, according to village officials.

The contract's roadwork projects will include repaving, draining and curbing work on Pine Hill Road, Myrtle Avenue, High Street, Inwood Avenue, Chambers Court, East Broadway and Dark Hollow Road.

The village will repair other roads using a self-propelled asphalt paver and spray patcher. Work is slated to begin as soon as weather allows.
