Port Washington water district to spend $18.4M
The Port Washington Water District will spend $18.4 million on a capital improvement plan to ensure high water quality standards.
The district plans to lease or buy land in the Harbor Park area to build a storage and booster pumping station, replace 20,000 feet of a four-inch water main, replace or paint the Beach Hill Tank, make improvements to Hewlett Well No. 4 and add an aeration system to the Bar Beach Well No. 6.
The district approved the capital plan in April. The Town of North Hempstead Town Board approved the bond funding last week.
The average tax increase to residential customers is expected to be about $66.43
