The village actively gets the word out about everything from upcoming events (such as Friday’s “Get out of the House and Dance”) to new recycling bins to parking meter changes. Jill Nees-Russell, a media consultant to the village, said Port Jefferson’s social media efforts are part of a bigger digital marketing that includes a new website, which is set to launch in April.
