Senior Tamara Simpson led Portledge to victory in the final of the Columbia Prep Tip-Off Tournament with a strong performance against Hunter College High School.
Simpson scored 26 points to go along with 17 rebounds, four assists and eight steals, and was named tournament MVP.
Portledge coach Skip Amadio praised Simpson for both "[leading] the team from beginning to end," and for her "extremely versatile" style of play
Amadio said it is hard to define what position Simpson plays, noting she ran the team at point guard on offense, while playing center on defense. This versatility allows her to play all five positions, according to the coach.
Morgan Follett added 11 points for Portledge and Liana Chambliss led Hunter College High School with 12 points.
