The North and Central Merrick Civic Association plans to host a meeting about the Town of Hempstead’s snowplowing practices and the increasing number of potholes that create potentially dangerous obstacle courses for motorists and pedestrians.
The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday in the North Merrick Library, 1691 Meadowbrook Rd. Town Councilman Gary Hudes and highway department representatives are to attend.
First Precinct police officers will provide information about recent criminal activity in the area, followed by community updates from civic president Claudia Borecky.
The association represents Merrick residents north of Sunrise Highway to Jerusalem Avenue and from Meadowbrook Road to Bellmore Avenue, except areas covered by the Merrick Park Homeowners Association and Wenshaw Park Civic Association.
