Public input sought on Sea Cliff brownfield site
Public comments are being accepted for a state Department of Environmental Conservation cleanup plan at a brownfield site in Sea Cliff.
The 1.9-acre residential lot, at 34 Woodbridge Lane, is being reviewed for potential heavy metal contamination from former coal ash disposal.
Test pits and monitoring wells will be installed, and a soil gas survey will be conducted in coming months.
Once a remedial work plan is developed, DEC officials will again solicit public comment.
The DEC’s draft work plan is available for review at the Sea Cliff Public Library and at the department's office at SUNY Stony Brook.
