Put more students on school buses

You recently printed an opinion that schools should trade full-sized buses for minivans ["Proposed bus rules at issue," In My Humble Opinion, May 16]. Rather, we should fill up those buses with students who drive to school or are driven by their parents.
The results would be massive gas savings, less traffic congestion, less expense for parking lot land -- including construction and maintenance of those lots -- and fewer parking violations on the streets around schools.
