Quogue candidates running unopposed

Candidates in this year’s Quogue Village election have no opposition, allowing the mayor and two trustees to return to the board.

The terms of Mayor Peter Sartorius and trustees Jeanette Obser and Kimberley Payne, all from the Liberty Party, expire this year.

The quaint village, which recently adopted a $7.3 million budget for 2012-13, has a population of about 1,000 residents and an area of six square miles. Quogue has a village beach with lifeguards, and runs its own police department.

There are no other propositions on the ballot this year.

Voting is from noon to 9 p.m. on Friday, June 15, at the firehouse on Jessup Avenue.
