Ramon Encarnacion blanks Freeport with 14 strikeouts
Ramon Encarnacion struck out 14 with one walk in a one-hitter for Freeport in a 3-0 win over Uniondale in Nassau Conference AA-I baseball Monday.
Encarnacion lost his bid for a no-hitter on a one-out single in the bottom of the seventh. Justin Lake went 2-for-3 with an RBI and Christian Rosario had a hit and two RBIs for Freeport (3-3).
Plainedge 4, Lynbrook 3: Mike Dotzler scored Gianfranco Soriente with a single in the bottom of the fifth to give Plainedge (4-1) a 4-3 lead in a Conference A-II/IV crossover. Dotzler added a solo home run in the second and Tom Read pitched a complete game with nine strikeouts.Ward Melville 6, Longwood 1: Phil Carballeira was 2-for-3 with a two-run double in the third to lead Ward Melville (4-2) in Suffolk League I. Chris Cepeda struck out nine, walked one and gave up six hits in a complete game.
Bellport 4, West Babylon 3: Adam Colon scored Josh Rosenberg with a single in the bottom of the eighth to win it for Bellport (2-5) in League V. Evan Honce went 4-for-4 with an RBI and a run and Nick Dunning struck out nine and walked one in a complete game.
Kings Park 2, Comsewogue 1: Chris DiAngelo stole home with the bases loaded and two outs in the bottom of the ninth to win it for Kings Park (2-2) in League V. Joe Guercio struck out seven, walked three and gave up six hits and added an RBI double to tie the score at 1 in the sixth.Islip 3, Harborfields 0: Matt Nalbone pitched a four-hitter with a walk and eight strikeouts for Islip (2-5) in League VI. Lou Fontinha had a single and an RBI.
Miller Place 1, Rocky Point 0: Cody McPartland struck out six, with no walks in a two-hitter for Miller Place (3-1) in League VI. McPartland's sacrifice fly drove in Travis Bell in the bottom of the third.

Calhoun 1, Farmingdale 0: Gianna Saladino drew a bases-loaded walk with two outs in the bottom of the fifth inning to plate Lauren Trimarco for Calhoun (2-1) in a Nassau Conference AA-II win. Trimarco struck out two with no walks in a three-hitter for her second straight shutout.
East Meadow 4, Mepham 0: Danielle Cutuli went 2-for-4 with three RBIs to lead East Meadow (3-0) in Conference AA-I. Kerri Shapiro tossed a two-hitter with 12 strikeouts.
Bay Shore 4, Connetquot 0: Michelle DeVito struck out 11 and walked two in a three-hitter for Bay Shore (3-0) in Suffolk League II. DeVito went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, Courtney Syrett finished 2-for-3 with two runs and Kileen Martin had two hits and an RBI.
Sayville 4, Mount Sinai 3: Olivia Kaczmarek's RBI single in the third inning scored Cindy Griffin with the eventual winning run for Sayville (4-0) in League VI.
