Rangers 2014-15 schedule released
The Rangers released next season's schedule yesterday, reminding fans that hockey -- much like life -- goes on, even after a disappointing Stanley Cup Final.
The Blueshirts will begin on the road for the seventh consecutive season against the St. Louis Blues on Oct. 9.
They will play their first game at Madison Square Garden three days later against the Maple Leafs in an Original Six showdown.
The calendar calls for 30 games against Metropolitan Division opponents, as the Eastern Conference champions face the Islanders and Carolina five times while matching up against Columbus, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, New Jersey and Washington four times apiece. The Rangers will play each Atlantic Division foe three times and the 14 Western Conference opponents twice.
Henrik Lundqvist and company will travel to Los Angeles in a Stanley Cup rematch with the Kings on Jan. 8 before hosting the defending champs on March 24.
