Razing abandoned homes to raise them anew

An abandoned house at 540 Donegan Ave. in East Patchogue was demolished Friday. The home was deemed unsafe by the Town of Brookhaven, which has partnered with the Long Island Housing Partnership (LIHP) to take down three houses in the area. They ae to be replaced with new, affordable housing.
