The New York Red Bulls have acquired forward Saer Sene and an international roster slot from the New England Revolution for forward Andre Akpan and allocation money.

Sene had 17 career goals and eight assists in his first three MLS seasons. In 2012, he led the team in scoring with 11 goals.

Before joining MLS, Sene spent eight seasons between France and Germany playing for Paris Saint Germain B, FC Etampes, SG Schorndorf, SG Sonnenhof Grossaspach and Bayern Munich II.

Akpan was in his second season with the Red Bulls. He made five appearances this season as a substitute. The forward began his career with the Colorado Rapids and has made 41 career appearances, totaling four goals and two assists.
