Eagles rally late to defeat Colts
Nick Foles threw a tying touchdown pass with 3:25 to go, then set up Cody Parkey for a 36-yard field goal as time expired, lifting the Eagles to a 30-27 win over the Colts Monday night in Indianapolis.
The Eagles (2-0) have won six straight road openers. Indianapolis (0-2) has lost consecutive regular-season games for the first time since Andrew Luck and Chuck Pagano arrived in 2012.
The Colts led most of the night, including 27-20 late in the game. Luck's interception led to Foles' tying 6-yard pass to Jeremy Maclin.
Gruden: RG3 may return
The Redskins are optimistic that Robert Griffin III will return this season.
An MRI exam revealed Griffin has no broken bones to go along with his dislocated left ankle. That means he doesn't need season-ending surgery and theoretically could return in a couple of months if all goes well with his rehab.
Kirk Cousins will be the starting quarterback for much -- if not all -- of the rest of the season.
Griffin was injured when he planted his left ankle awkwardly into the turf during the first quarter of Sunday's 41-10 rout of the Jaguars.
Coach Jay Gruden said he won't have a timetable for Griffin's return until the leg has been in a cast for a few weeks. Gruden said there's "no consideration" at this point of putting Griffin on season-ending injured reserve.
Gruden said wide receiver DeSean Jackson suffered a Grade 1 sprain of the AC joint in his left shoulder. It's possible he will play Sunday against his old team, the Eagles.
