Cuomo got lion's share of lobbying funds
Lobby firms and their employees donated more than $1.8 million to candidates and campaign committees in 2011 -- with nearly one-quarter of the money going to Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo -- according to a report released Monday.
Lobby firms gave $423,278 toward Cuomo's re-election, according to the New York Public Interest Research Group.
That's nearly three times the sum garnered by Attorney General Eric Schneiderman ($143,539), who ranked second among candidates and committees. The Senate Republican Campaign Committee -- controlled by Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos (R-Rockville Centre) -- was third with $91,192, NYPIRG found.
No other candidate or campaign committee topped $52,000.
