There's slightly good news and slightly bad news for Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo in the most recent Siena College poll.

On the down side, the Democrat's favorability ratings dipped. Now at 68 percent, that's the lowest since he took office -- although many governors would kill for a 68.

Perhaps more importantly, 55 percent of New Yorkers say the state is going in the right direction. That ties the highest mark since Siena began its surveys in 2005. Notably, the number has inched up steadily from October, when it was 40 percent.

The all-time low? Fourteen percent in October 2010, during the last months of Gov. David A. Paterson's administration.
