Cops search for driver who fled accident that closed interstate
Police in Syracuse are looking for a driver who fled after starting a four-car crash that sent two people to the hospital.
The Post-Standard reports that the crash happened just before 8 a.m. Saturday on I-690 westbound.
Police say the driver of a black Lexus tried to pass three other vehicles but lost control and struck a Jeep Cherokee.
Two other cars were involved in a chain reaction.
A passenger in the Jeep and the driver of one of the other cars were taken to a local hospital with neck and back pain.
The two right lanes of the interstate were closed for about an hour.
Police say the Lexus kept going.
They are asking anyone who spots a black Lexus with extensive front-end damage to call police.
