In NY, Hillary Clinton ups lead to 30 over Donald Trump, whose ratings hit all-time low

Hillary Clinton now holds a 30-point lead over Donald Trump in New York, according to a new poll released Monday.

Trump’s deficit has increased as his favorability rating in New York hit an all-time low since the race began last year, according to the Siena College survey.

Clinton leads Trump, 57 to 27 percent, Siena found. Her lead has increased from 23 percentage points from before the Democrats and Republicans held their national conventions.

Other findings:

-- Just 24 percent of New Yorkers surveyed said they had a favorable opinion of Trump, 72 percent unfavorable. That’s Trump’s lowest rating since the race began.

--Though a majority of those surveyed said neither candidate is honest or trustworthy, voters said Clinton is more trustworthy than Trump, 54 percent to 38 percent.

-- An overwhelming majority of those surveyed said Clinton is more qualified than Trump to be commander in chief, 66-26.

“Despite Trump’s claims to carry New York, the Empire State seems firmly planted on the blue side of the map,” said Siena spokesman Steve Greenberg. “New Yorkers have voted Democratic in the last seven presidential elections and there does not appear to be a real threat to end that streak.”
