A worker has died after falling from a ladder while repairing gutters on a house in Rockland County.

Police Chief Steven Dixon in Cornwall-on-Hudson tells the Times Herald-Record of Middletown that 38-year-old Marco Morocho of Spring Valley suffered the fatal fall shortly before 11 a.m. Friday. Dixon says Morocho was standing on a folding metal ladder on a subroof of a house when he fell, landing on a concrete sidewalk.

Dixon says Morocho suffered head injuries and went into cardiac arrest at the scene. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Dixon says the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration will investigate.

Morocho was employed by Serrano II Roofing Company of Middletown.
