Dylan Lentini accused of killing roommate Michael Wimbert after posting Craigslist ad, authorities say
CLARKSTOWN, N.Y. — Authorities say a Rockland County resident found stabbed to death met the man accused of the slaying through a Craigslist advertisement for a roommate.
According to the Journal News, police say 19-year-old Dylan Lentini took a train from a Manhattan homeless shelter to meet Michael Wimbert last Friday.
Police say Lentini apparently lived in Wimbert’s West Nyack apartment until Tuesday when police found the 66-year-old man dead from multiple stab wounds.
Officer Peter Walker says there was no personal relationship between the victim and suspect before Lentini responded to the ad. He says the motive wasn’t immediately known.
It’s unclear if Lentini has an attorney who could comment on the charges. He’s being held without bail in the Rockland County jail. He pleaded not guilty on Tuesday.
