A western New York man who authorities say antagonized police into several high-speed chases will spend the next six to 12 years in prison.

Wyoming County District Attorney Donald O'Geen says 23-year-old Nathan Hulme was sentenced Thursday after a jury found him guilty last month of multiple charges, including reckless driving, fleeing police and endangerment.

Authorities say that on three different days in August of 2013, Hulme drove within feet of law enforcement officers at high rates of speed, leading to chases. In October 2013, police say he swerved at three pedestrians, nearly striking them.

The charges cite speeds of up to 124 miles per hour.

Authorities say Hulme is well-known to police after having more than 80 contacts with officers over the last few years.
