NY State Thruway reopened after fatal accident
State police say a 24-year-old man was struck and killed as he tried to cross the New York State Thruway at Albany, causing extensive traffic backups while southbound lanes of the highway were closed for nine hours during the investigation.
The accident happened around 4:20 a.m. Sunday near Exit 23. The victim was identified as Luke Morrison of nearby Glenmont. Southbound lanes of the highway were closed at Exit 23 until about 1:45 p.m. Sunday.
Police are asking anyone who witnessed the accident to call the Loudonville barracks at 518-783-3211.
