Officials: Skipper found dozing in Newburgh power plant after crash

NEWBURGH -- Authorities say the man believed to have been operating a boat that sank after hitting rocks in the Hudson River was later found asleep inside a riverside power-generating facility.
Officials told the Times Herald-Record of Middletown that the 24-foot boat ran into rocks late Saturday night near the Roseton power plant in the town of Newburgh, 60 miles north of New York City.
Security workers at the plant found the boat's operator asleep inside the facility around 4 a.m. Sunday.
Officials say two of the three other people on board were injured and are hospitalized in stable condition.
The boat sank but was later recovered and towed to shore.
No charges have been filed. Authorities say their investigation is continuing.
