The jury in the bribery trial of Joe Percoco, a one-time top adviser to Gov. Andrew Cuomo, completed its first full day of deliberations without a verdict on Friday in Manhattan federal court.
Jurors stopped work at 4:30 p.m. after getting permission for an early weather-related departure from U.S. District Judge Valerie Caproni. The panel got the case on Thursday afternoon after a five-week trial and is scheduled to resume deliberating on Monday.
Percoco, 48, of South Salem, New York is accused of taking more than $300,000 in bribes, including $35,000 from Syracuse developers Steve Aiello and Joe Gerardi, and a $90,000-a-year “low show” job for his wife, Lisa, from energy executive Peter Kelly.
Testimony in the trial began on Jan. 23.
