Police say NY officer hit by suspect's car, dragged 100 feet
Police in Westchester County say an officer was hit by a suspect's car and dragged 100 feet.
It happened at 4 a.m. Sunday in White Plains.
The Journal News reports that an unruly patron identified as 38-year-old Nino Valvano was ejected from a restaurant.
Police say Valvano grabbed something from his car and put it in his waistband. Then he appeared to toss the object back in the car.
A White Plains officer grabbed the car door. Police say Valvano put the car in drive.
The officer was hit by the car and dragged 100 feet. He was treated for minor injuries.
Valvano was arrested on charges including assault, reckless driving and drug possession.
It wasn't known if he had a lawyer who could comment on the charges.
