Sexual discrimination complaint dropped against Joseph Zikuski, Binghamton Police Chief

A police officer who filed a sexual discrimination complaint against Binghamton Police Chief Joseph Zikuski has withdrawn her complaint.

Officer Kristi Sager has accepted a 60-day suspension without pay and will be reinstated as a patrol officer when the suspension is complete. That's according to a joint statement released Tuesday by her attorney and corporation counsel for the city.

Sager accused Zikuski of making sexual advances toward her and others in a complaint she filed in March with the New York State Division of Human Rights.

The 58-year-old Zikuski, police chief since 2008 and a 35-year veteran of the department, has been on paid administrative leave.

Binghamton Mayor Richard David says he'll make a decision regarding Zikuski after reviewing an independent report of the police department's policies and operations.
