Who's got the most-beautiful baby? Or, in this case, the best-looking cruiser?
The New York State Police are hoping it's their 2025 Mustang GT, a marked patrol unit they've entered into a national contest being held by the American Association of State Troopers to determine which state has the best-looking cop cars.
Seriously.
The FDNY has its "Calendar of Heroes" with its "hunks and hotties" ode to New York City firefighters, and the NYPD "Canine and Friends" calendar, featuring uniformed officers and their specialized investigative pooches,
But the top 13 state police cars selected will be included in what the AAST is calling "America's Best Looking Trooper Cruisers 2027 Wall Calendar" — the top vote-getter to be featured on the cover.
OK, so we're not talking Fabio. Or Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition cover models.
Although a lot of drivers consider these bad boys the bane of their existence, police see their four-wheeled cruisers as friends to be pampered and indulged.
The New York State Police entry is sleek, stunning, high-gloss and apparently high-maintenance, photographed at the scenic Empire State Plaza in Albany with the State Capitol as the backdrop.
Surely, New York's state troopers are hoping you'll love that Mustang and cast your votes for her as the most-beautiful model out there, head and shoulders ahead of all those other preening state wannabes.
The field of entrants can be found here, where you can also cast a vote for your favorite.
Alabama entered two vehicles from it's highway patrol unit posed in front of amusement park attractions, while Alaska sent a shot of it's off-road ready patrol pickup plowing through a mountainside stream. Some agencies posed their vehicles next to jet fighters, others with helicopters.
Georgia and Idaho posed their Mustangs next to, well ... mustangs. Like, the real horses — as if we wouldn't get it.
The field does include a few stunners, among them the Northern Lights backdrop to the entry from Montana and a surprising entry from Delaware, though the entry from North Dakota is downright weird, its trooper vehicle posed next to the giant metal Grasshoppers in the Field sculpture that sits in the middle of nowhere along the Enchanted Highway near Gladstone, population 271.
Who will you cast a vote for? New York State troopers hope it's their sleek beauty. Voting begins July 13. Proceeds from the calendar will benefit the AAST Foundation, which provides educational scholarships to dependents of member troopers.
