Next week the Merrick Library will host an author who has a unique bond with the characters she has created.

Joanna Philbin, daughter of morning talk-show host Regis Philbin, will visit the library next Wednesday at 4:45 p.m. to discuss her “Daughters” book series.

In the last year the Manhattan native has released three young adult novels that spotlight the complicated lives of 14-year-old friends whose parents are celebrities.

The program is run in collaboration with the Bellmore, North Bellmore and North Merrick libraries. Autographed copies of the new book, "The Daughers Take the Stage," will be available for sale. To register for the event call 516-377-6112, ext. 125.
