Renters, homeowners with insurance questions can get answers

Homeowners, renters and business owners with insurance-related questions stemming from superstorm Sandy's damage can talk to representatives from the state Department of Financial Services at four Long Island locations in the next four days.
The representatives will be in the agency’s Mobile Command Center as follows:
Nov. 24 – 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Freeport Recreation Center, 130 E. Merrick Rd., Freeport.
Nov. 25 – Noon to 5 p.m., Bellmore Public Library, 2288 Bedford Ave. (south of Sunrise Highway).
Nov. 26 – 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Islip Town Hall Annex, 401 Main St., Islip.
Nov. 27 – 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Levittown Mews Shopping Center, 3335 Hempstead Tpke., Levittown.
Department representatives will help people contact their insurers and answer questions about insurance coverage.
Residents also can call the department’s storm hotline at any time at 800-339-1759. Insurance information is available on the department’s website, www.dfs.ny.gov.
