REO rehashes disc for the holidays
Talk about regifting.
REO Speedwagon put out the holiday album "Not So Silent Night" last year. And the collection is back on shelves this season with a slightly new wrapping and three bonus tracks - including singer Kevin Cronin's new acoustic Christmas song, "I Believe in Santa Claus."
The album's original 13 tracks add a little arena-rock twist to such holiday standards as "Winter Wonderland," "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" and "I'll Be Home for Christmas." This being the holiday season, we'll refrain from bah-humbugging "Not So Silent Night" or making any "lump of coal" references.
That said, it is truly something to behold when you hear Cronin's trademark high-pitched voice tackle "Happy Xmas (War Is Over)." Sorry, we just can't fight this feeling anymore.
