Report: Barclays Center wants New York Islanders to go
Bloomberg has reported that the Barclays Center has decided that it's time for the New York Islanders to find another arena.
According to the report, the Barclays Center says it's no longer worth it to host the team. The Islanders have only been playing in the borough for two years, but according to the report, attendance for the Islanders games is the third worst in the NHL.
The report says it may be more profitable to have shows and concerts, instead.
The arena also reportedly received numerous complaints about the ice conditions from players and sightlines from fans.
If the Barclays Center decided to drop the Islanders, it wouldn't be able to do so until after the 2018–2019 season. The Islanders have not commented on the report.
