Babylon was alive with music, art and fun for all this weekend as festivals unfolded in both the village and the town.

Babylon Village’s third annual Spring Fling Arts & Music Festival & Sidewalk Sale kicked off Friday and continued through Sunday, inviting guests to stroll the quaint streets and enjoy art displays, music, sales and tempting fare throughout the village.

Brian Gregory, a street performer who made balloon creations for the kids, said he looks forward to the event.

“I just love Babylon Village,” he said. “It’s a great place to live.”

As hungry crowds lined up for festival favorites including hot sausage sandwiches, David Popp, owner of Babylon Village Meat Market said he served up about 300 hot dogs, 300 burgers, and 500 sausage sandwiches.

“The people are great,” he said. And the event is fun for all, he added, “especially on a day like today, when the sun’s out.”

Watching passersby admire her photography, Bay Shore artist Tiquah Terroade said the Spring Fling was one of the first times she’s shown her art at a public venue.

Many admirers stopped to talk about her work, she said. “I’ve had some amazing conversations."
