Electricity was being restored to about 50 people in Water Mill, where downed trees and branches brought down power lines on  Rose Hill Road. Crews were repairing lines and cutting fallen tree branches, climbing through knee-deep snow through trees off the street.

Deniz Baydemir, 26, was shoveling out nearly 3 feet of snow from his house to reach his car buried on the road. He said the house he was living in lost power for about 12 hours.

“I mean, on the side of the house, "one of the trees from the neighbor's yard actually fell on the home, and the snow didn't stop,” Baydemir said. “It just kept going. Plows didn't hit the streets until maybe 11 p.m. last night. So you know, we were kind of a little nervous, just kind of sitting in the home waiting for the snow to stop."
