The southern end of Brooksite Drive in Hauppauge will be closed until Friday afternoon due to ongoing reconstruction of Nesconset Highway, the state Department of Transportation has announced.
Brooksite Drive will reopen at 3 p.m. Friday, the DOT said in a news release.
The closed portion of Brooksite Drive is between Nesconset Highway (Route 347) and Town Line Road.
The road will be closed while a crane is stationed there to construct a retaining wall.
The retaining wall is part of a $26.8 million project to improve safety, traffic flow and the adjacent environment, the DOT said. Work could be postponed, prolonged or canceled due to bad weather.
Drivers should use alternate routes to avoid delays, the DOT said. Two nearby businesses on Brooksite Drive will remain open while work continues.
