(AP) — Organizers say Rod Stewart, Leona Lewis and Michael Buble have agreed to sing on a charity single for victims of the earthquake in Haiti.

The Sun newspaper is helping put together the single and says it will be a cover of R.E.M.'s 1993 ballad "Everybody Hurts."

The newspaper said Friday that Robbie Williams, Coldplay, Take That and Paul McCartney also have been approached.

The paper said R.E.M. had agreed to waive royalties and the British government says the record will be exempt from sales tax.

The song is being coordinated by TV mogul Simon Cowell. The "American Idol" and "X-Factor" judge said he was asked by British Prime Minister Gordon Brown to help with the relief effort.
