Romano leads Kings Park girls in Class A quarters

Jamie Romano filled the stat sheet with seven points, 19 rebounds, eight assists and four steals as top-seeded Kings Park cruised to a 46-28 win over eighth-seeded Sayville on Friday night in a Suffolk Class A girls basketball quarterfinal.

Meghan Eckel had 14 points and Marion Kawecki 12 for host Kings Park (17-2). Janine Cascio added four steals in the win.

Kings Park will host No. 4 Glenn in a semifinal at 6 p.m. Tuesday.Glenn 57, Miller Place 34: Danielle Evers had 18 points, 11 rebounds, five steals and four assists for No. 4 Glenn (13-6) in a Class A quarterfinal. Sophomore Allison McKenna added 13 points and a career-high 27 rebounds. Brea Greene led No. 5 Miller Place (13-6) with 13 points.Mount Sinai 60, Eastport-South Manor 35: Kelsey Lubin scored six of her 12 points in a 16-3 first half to lead No. 2 Mount Sinai (15-4) in a Class A quarterfinal. Emily Bongiorno led Mount Sinai with 23 points and four steals and Sarah Shine had 16 points and nine rebounds. Mount Sinai will host No. 3 Harborfields in a semifinal at 6 p.m. Tuesday. Alex Marshall had 10 points for No. 7 Eastport-SM (11-8).Harborfields 50, Shoreham-Wading River 44: Bridgit Ryan had 17 points and seven rebounds to lead No. 3. Harborfields (15-4) in a Class A quarterfinal. Samantha Villafranca led No. 6 Shoreham-Wading River (14-5) with 21 points.

NON-LEAGUE

Long Island Lutheran 65, Staten Island Academy 45: Sam Milhaven had 12 points and eight rebounds and Paige Kriftcher 11 points and six assists for Long Island Lutheran (17-3) in non-league. Ali Herschlein chipped in eight points and seven rebounds in the win. Bethany Claps led Staten Island Academy (20-3) with 21 points.
