Mike Rooney scored from short range off a feed from Kevin Hutchinson with four seconds left to lift East Islip to a 14-13 non-league win over Mahopac in boy's lacrosse Saturday.

East Islip appeared to have the game in hand when Anthony Pafundi scored his third goal with 5:46 left in the fourth to give East Islip a 13-9 lead. But host Mahopac came back with four straight scores, capped by PJ Foley's goal off a feed from Chase Thompson with 19 seconds remaining, tying the score at 13. Rooney finished with four goals and four assists, Kevin Wendel chipped in four goals and an assist and Pafundi added two assists. Calhoun 7, Hewlett 6: Paul Grubb (three goals, one assist) scored 34 seconds into overtime to win it for Calhoun in non-league. Joe McGinley (one goal, two assists) tied the score at six for Calhoun with 30 seconds left in the fourth. Charlie Isham added two goals for Calhoun.Baldwin 14, Half Hollow Hills West 7: Kyle Rebman had three goals and Austin Valenti, Steven Greene and Patrick Dillion each had two goals for Baldwin in non-league.Division 9, East Meadow 6: Tom Nuckel had three goals and two assists for Division in non-league. Tom Duggan added three goals, and Corey Triola had a goal and two assists. Brandon Noblett led East Meadow with three goals.Bayport-Blue Point 9, Riverhead 3: Mike DeBlasio had three goals and an assist, Brian Anderson had two goals and an assist and Brian White had a goal and two assists for Bayport-Blue Point in non-league. MacArthur 15, Jericho 14: Candice Noakes scored her fourth goal of the game with 1:51 remaining to put MacArthur ahead 15-14 in non-league. Nicole McKee had six goals and one assist for MacArthur. Caroline Motschwiller had six goals for Jericho.Baldwin 11, Bethpage 4: Allie Rogers had five goals and three assists amd Caroline Winters had 15 saves to lead Baldwin in Nassau Conference III.Smithtown East 16, Smithtown West 6: Shannon O'Connor had five goals and two assists to lead Smithtown East in non-league. Nicole Daniggelis added three goals and three assists.
