Roosevelt event to focus on youth empowerment
STW Advocacy for at Risk Youth, Inc. will present a free event Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the Roosevelt Youth Center (55 Mansfield Ave.) titled “I’ve Got a Song, I’ve Got Something to Say.”
The event will feature singer Rajean Perry, speaker Anthony J. Murray and others.
STW Advocacy For At Risk Youth, Inc., which runs a Pull Up Your Pants campaign, is partnering with the Rev. Arthur L. Mackey, Jr., owner of the I Support Roosevelt Center Youth, to continue to raise consciousness and pride among Long Island’s, organizers said.
The group’s mission is to empower youth by providing scholarships to college and trade school students, holding dialogue sessions on topics that concern young people, and introducing youth and adults to career opportunities.
