Roosevelt wins to break losing streak

Alexi Bonilla hit a walk-off single that scored Gino Guevara for Roosevelt in a 3-2 win over Westbury. Roosevelt  won its first game since 2007. Guevara (3-for-4) had hit a two-out triple. Sophomore Allan Villeda allowed five hits and struck out five in a complete game for his first varsity win.

"To finally get the first victory. it's a rewarding experience," coach Adam Stiles said to Stephen Haynes. "We took some tough losses along the way, but the kids stuck together."
